HIGHBEAM SOFTWARE LICENCE Copyright (c) 2026 HighBeam. All rights reserved. Last updated: 17 October 2026 HighBeam is free to use, but it is not open source. This licence is an agreement between you and HighBeam ("we", "us", "our"), the owner of the HighBeam software. By downloading, installing, running or otherwise using the Software, you agree to this licence. If you do not agree, do not use the Software. 1. WHAT THIS LICENCE COVERS "Software" means everything we make available under the HighBeam name, including the HighBeam launcher and its installer and updater, the HighBeam game server, the HighBeam master server and server list, the HighBeam mod for BeamNG.drive, the test bot and other tools, their source code, object code, scripts, user interfaces, network protocols, documentation, artwork and logos, and every update, patch or new version of any of them. Open source components that we include in the Software are licensed to you under their own licences, which are listed in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and in the licences file shipped with the launcher. Nothing in this licence limits the rights those licences give you over those components. 2. WHAT YOU MAY DO Subject to this licence, we give you a free, personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence, which we may revoke, to: (a) download the Software from us (highbeam.gg, its downloads, or the launcher's own updates) and install it on devices you own or control; (b) use the launcher and the mod to play BeamNG.drive online; (c) run the HighBeam game server, including for a community or as part of a paid game server hosting service, as long as the server's software is downloaded from us and is not changed; (d) change the server's settings files, and write and run your own scripts and plugins for the server through its scripting interface. Your own scripts and plugins belong to you; and (e) make the copies that installing, running and backing up the Software needs. The Software costs nothing. We may charge for optional extras in the future; if we do, the terms for them will be shown to you before you pay. 3. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO Unless we agree in writing, you may not, and may not help or allow anyone else to: (a) copy the Software, except as section 2 allows; (b) modify, adapt, translate, patch or create derivative works of the Software, including forks of its source code or of the mod; (c) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to find the source code, structure or protocols of the Software, except to the extent that the law where you live allows this despite this licence; (d) distribute, publish, sell, rent, lend, sublicense or otherwise make the Software available to others, including by re-hosting its downloads, mirroring it, or bundling it with other software or mods; server operators may still let their players connect to a server they run under section 2(c); (e) remove, hide or change any copyright, trademark or licence notice in the Software; (f) get around, disable or interfere with the Software's sign-in, join tickets, server keys, bans, update signatures or any other security or protection feature; (g) use the Software to cheat, to make cheats, hacks or tools that give an unfair advantage, or to attack, overload or break into servers, accounts or the server list; (h) use the Software, or anything learnt from it, to build a product or service that copies or competes with it; or (i) use the Software in any way that breaks the law, the terms at highbeam.gg/terms, or the licence terms of BeamNG.drive or Steam. 4. OWNERSHIP The Software is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors own the Software and all copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets and other intellectual property rights in it. All rights not expressly given to you in this licence are reserved. "HighBeam" and the HighBeam logo are our trademarks; this licence gives you no right to use them, except to say truthfully that your server runs HighBeam. If you have been given access to the Software's source code, for example as a contributor, that access is confidential and does not give you any right beyond this licence. Anything you contribute to the Software, and any suggestion or feedback you send us, may be used by us freely and without payment or credit to you. 5. BEAMNG.DRIVE, STEAM AND ONLINE SERVICES HighBeam is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with BeamNG GmbH or Valve Corporation. You need your own licensed copy of BeamNG.drive and a Steam account, and you must follow their terms. BeamNG.drive is a trademark of BeamNG GmbH; Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation. Accounts, the server list and our other online services are also governed by the terms at highbeam.gg/terms and the privacy policy at highbeam.gg/privacy. Servers run by other people, and the mods they send you, are their responsibility, not ours. 6. UPDATES AND CHANGES The launcher updates itself and the mod automatically, and game servers may update themselves. You agree to receive these updates. We may change, suspend or stop the Software or any online service at any time, with or without notice, and we do not have to provide support, updates or fixes. 7. NO WARRANTY THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, CONDITIONS AND REPRESENTATIONS, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON- INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK. 8. NO LIABILITY TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE, OUR LICENSORS AND OUR CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT LIABLE TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSS OF ANY KIND ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE, THIS LICENCE OR YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SOFTWARE, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, GAME SAVES, PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL OR BUSINESS, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY OTHER PLAYERS, SERVERS OR MODS, AND WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. WHERE THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW US TO EXCLUDE LIABILITY ENTIRELY, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS TOGETHER IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICH FOR THE FREE SOFTWARE IS ZERO. Some places do not allow some of these exclusions or limits. Nothing in this licence excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in it takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived. 9. RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE You will defend and compensate us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that come from your breach of this licence, from a server you run, or from content or mods you share through the Software. 10. ENDING THIS LICENCE This licence lasts until it ends. It ends automatically, without notice, if you break any of its terms, and we may end it at any time for any reason. When it ends you must stop using the Software and delete every copy you have. Sections 3, 4 and 7 to 12 continue after it ends. 11. CHANGES TO THIS LICENCE We may change this licence. The current version is in the Software and at highbeam.gg/license.txt, with its date at the top. If you keep using the Software after a change, you accept the changed licence. 12. GENERAL This licence, together with the terms and privacy policy at highbeam.gg, is the whole agreement between you and us about the Software. If any part of it cannot be enforced, the rest still applies, and that part is applied as far as the law allows. If we do not enforce a term, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer this licence; we may transfer it. You must follow all export control and sanctions laws that apply to your use of the Software. This licence is governed by the laws of the country where we are established, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law where you live as a consumer gives you the right to bring a claim in your own courts.
