Setting up a server
Your own HighBeam server, on the list, in a few minutes.
You need
- A Windows or Linux PC that stays on while people play
- Port 27015 open for TCP and UDP
- 1Download the server.
Or download the Pterodactyl egg.
- 2Make a new folder and put the file in it.
For example
C:\HighBeam Server. The server keeps everything in this folder. - 3Start it.
On Windows, double-click it. On Linux, run these two lines in the folder:
chmod +x highbeam-server-linux-amd64 ./highbeam-server-linux-amd64
The first start makes the folders configs, mods, scripts and logs.
- 4Open port 27015, TCP and UDP.
If Windows asks about the firewall, click Allow. At home, also forward port 27015 (TCP and UDP) on your router to this PC.
- 5Find your server on the list.
Open the server list and search for HighBeam Server. It shows up within a minute.
Your server is live.
Next, give it a name and pick a map.
Tip
Leave the window open: closing it stops the server. Type help in it to see its commands.
